The starting point of the works in the exhibition is 'Documenting the body', a visual diary that Spierenburg made after the death of her father. The diary has the shape of a leporello, the contents of which she then printed on textile. Physical and mental processes of mourning are folded into the textile. The artist encloses physical states in fine lines, and in doing so also touches upon the mental mechanisms that move within.
'Drifting stones and a broken bird' can be described as a translation of these drawings into an installation; The artist immortalizes the shape and color of a breath in a sculpture or painting, a resilient tongue hangs by a silk thread. She shows the maddening feeling of heavy legs in a textile sculpture.
In addition to her own visual translations, the artist makes room for visitors to express their experiences, to find a suitable form for their interior space. During her research, the artist discovered something essential with which she generously shows herself to the viewers and connects with them: the more intimate a work of art becomes, the more universal it feels.
